2. I use a lot of the new features (a ton of the Vector.<> container, it's faster than array, and dynamic sound)

The gravity idea was fun, but OH MY SHIT I hate these boss fights. They're usually good for about the first minute or two of each one, but they've got so much health that you have to grind it out for like another 3 or 4 minutes after that. Waitin for a boss to shoot for so long is painful.
The growing planet imagery was fun aswell.

I experience the opposite effect on YouTube videos going fullscreen than I do with your game. It's fascinating to me because I have no idea how that works.
it's cause they did fullscreen wrong :P
You can tell it to hardware scale the original swf instead of just rendering the thing at a higher resolution, also detatches the swf from the refresh rate of the browser, and the rest of the OS doesnt have to render to the screen
