aw this is gonna be one of those games that freaks me out isn't it.

That game is insane. Or at least it's driving me insane.

Great game so far.

Will do on the waiting a week, it's probably site locked anyway, didn't check that. Either way I'll wait a week to toss it up. Congrats again on an awesome game. I just realized I'm on my dads account as well (for his music I'm uploading) hehe, either way, good stuff.

Hey dude, I play the whole thing while talking with Ogre, took about an hour and only got stuck a few times, and probably did many of the stages in an unconventional manner. Starogre said the beta testers weren't motivated enough to play the game! Maybe you should recruit me next time? :)

A very good game, a breath of fresh air from the Meet'n'fark tripe you get often on this site

very cool game glaiel :-) i love the concept of what you can't see not existing.

it's your game i enjoyed the most since aqua slug

Thanks for replying to my review (or, if it was starogre, you can ignore this message). I didn't understand that the black orb reacted to you being close by becoming darker... I think that game mechanism should have been presented in a clearer fashion, maybe. In any case, I'll once again say cheers and kudos for such a great game!

It was me, starogre can't respond to the reviews.
Ya really we spent hours discussing that level. Like, black orbs by themselves are easily missable (there were a few in earlier levels but they had no use and you could easily ignore them).

The problem is black orbs are only useful in the swap-out situation (well they have some more advanced uses later on). That's the easiest puzzle that makes them useful.

I've finished the game... yikes, what a tough game... so levels are clear cut easy, but some are immensly hard and level 25 is a particulary horrific level.

But, ironicly, I felt the ending of the game offered little closure for the player. Sure, we can infer that the person you're playing as has either awakened or died, but it would have been immensly satisfying if you could actually see reality or made more clear that you're dead. Quite simply, the rest of the story is pretty clear cut, but the ending isn't...

Still, I have to admit that I was a little harsh in my review. Although you could have made the mechanics a little more clearer (i.e., you needed a 'tutorial level' for the black orb) and the ending should really have been more clear cut / satisfying (rewarding the player for such a tough game), it deserves a solid ten.

Some levels are way too tough, yes, but also offer a a degree of originality so rarely seen... I'll make sure to vote for this game in the end of the month awards, you two have earned it!

Thanks.

And ya, the title is an oxymoron. That's the point really, especially how it has dual meanings. Closure also refers to how your brain fills in blank spots between images, which this game basically ignores.

awesome work!

Absolutely brilliant game. The idea is completely original. I can't even start to guess how you coded the dynamic lighting and the way masses are dynamically broken up to react differently based on light.
There was little explanation of what was happening, but the weird effects this game has on your brain are enough to make up for it. Also, an explanation might have ruined the mystery. Everything is obscured, the screen almost all black, which makes for unique game play as well as a creepy, but intriguing feel. Like Vert said, the game offers little closure for the player, but I think this is a positive attribute. Most games are less fun if no story is involved, but this is an exception. I feel like a back story or explanation would ruin the dark, mysterious vibe. You are literally kept in the dark, and it's awesome.

Great Job.
